Saving money on GPRS costs with pay as you go

Hi

is there anyway you can save money on GPRs costs when connecting to the internet on your phone.Im on orange pay as you go and it costs me about 35pence a minute when connected.

Do you mean WAP? GPRS is pay per unit data not time.

All I know is when I connect to the internet,then disconnect straight away.I phone 453 and my balance is about 40pence down.Not even doing anything just connecting then disconnecting.I think it is GPRS.

Well with GPRS on PAYG it is £3 per Mb. So to charge you 40p it must have downloaded more than 100kb of data, which isn't possible in a short amount of time. Therefore this charge can't be because of GPRS, but something like WAP. I'd certainly ring orange and see whats happening.

I have a o2 payasyougo with 300 text and 300 wap minutes a month free on it and i can surf internet explorer and don't get charged a penny unless i use my 300 minutes of course.

PS Guys, Orange WAP and GPRS on PAYG is free until 31st August, Contract customers have to call 150 to subscribe, but it will also be free for them too
