Hi,

I am looking into purchasing an SPV very shortly but I just wanted to confirm that I must have Windows XP or 2000 to use it with my PC. Is this correct? Or can I get by with Win98SE?

Thanks

Mark

You can use Win98 just fine, unless you plan to use the spv as a modem for your pc. For that, you need 2000/XP

That's great news, I'll look forward to my imminent purchase!

Thanks

sorry to p**s on your bonfire sorta speak, but last time you couldn't install the update with 98se. Whether the next update will have this problem or not i don't know.

Personally i do use 98se and active sync and all that runs fine. So yeah go ahead and get one, but don't say i didn't warn you if the next update wont install!

Yep, I'm running Windows 98 (first edition!) at home - no problems. Now I think about it, I installed the update from work, using a Windows 2000 machine, so I can't comment on how this works on '98.

Cheers,

Clive

The update will not run on Win 9x/ME.

There is a workaround if you are interested.

Yeah, my workaround was to go to my mates house who has xp and an spv!

Hopefully they'll rectify for the next update. (my a***)
