Guest chinoclone Posted May 28, 2003 Report Posted May 28, 2003 I've tried to create my own, but the wav file is either too large to fit on the phone, or just doesn't work
Guest tgn Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 You need total recorder. You get to rip from any source directly to mp3 or wav etc. You can also create segments and choose your output quality. It's a modest fee from the author, but if you want a quick look, there's a link (only usefull thing so far) on my site tgn1.co.uk Usual right-click, save as: malarky & dont forget the encoder DLL if you want mp3 capability
Guest slashformayor Posted June 13, 2003 Report Posted June 13, 2003 I've tried to create my own, but the wav file is either too large to fit on the phone, or just doesn't work I have Metallica - Master of puppets, well, the intro anyway!! It rules, and it also is 8.4MB long. You need sound forge. Great prog, you can add effects (fading in/out, mute etc etc) and save as nearly any format, you can even change the quality of the wav so you can make it fit the memory card. I manged to fit the chorus of Coal Chamber - Fiend (approx. 30 secs long) to about 4 MB. Not bad quality either. Hope this helps Kris
Guest XGEOX Posted June 14, 2003 Report Posted June 14, 2003 4mb for 30secs sounds like a hell of a lot... You should be able to get 30secs of music down to around 500-700kb if you use the right compression format - i suggest: PCM, 11khz, 8bit, Mono (remember that the ringtone will be played from the single spv speaker anyway) It shouldnt matter which program you use to do this - with the above settings i got a 60 second track down to 658kb!
Guest ricmoo2003 Posted June 14, 2003 Report Posted June 14, 2003 4 meg is huge!!!!!, 20seconds about 300k 30 seconds about 450k, use sound forge and save as the guy says with those settings, check out some of the ringtones i have made for people and you'll see the quality you can get..
