I havent turned it off or anything... it was fully charged too. I dont know what's wrong.. it's been stuck like this for about 20mins now. Stupid thing is... i cant even phone 150! I've tried taking the battery off... and leaving it for a 5mins... but to no avail. Any help Appreciated Glyn
Guest maxh2003 Posted May 28, 2003 Report Posted May 28, 2003 This happened to me too, on the train from Sheffield to Manchester... and the contact details of the people I was meeting in Manchester were stored on my phone... I think you need to perform a hard reset. Anyone want to correct me?
Guest glynton Posted May 28, 2003 Report Posted May 28, 2003 I couldnt seem to do a hard reset... if i press the record button and start up... it goes into the three-Colour canary screen... but then does nothing  I've called Orange, and they're replacing it tomorrow.. this'll be my third phone now Glyn
Guest Playdoh Posted May 28, 2003 Report Posted May 28, 2003 it's a little tricky to get to the reset screen. You have to be sure to push the action key in - it's easy to push sideways a little which makes it go to the red/green/blue screen. Keep trying and you'll get it to that screen once I'll bet. You should also remove any memory card hope this helps!
Guest ajb3000 Posted May 28, 2003 Report Posted May 28, 2003 A hard reset does fix this as I've had the exact same problem. Make sure you have an SD/MMC card in, and hold down the record button while powering on. As soon as the screen comes on let go of the record button, and when it says "press a button to access bootloader" press the action button, then chose option 8.
Guest mike-oh Posted May 28, 2003 Report Posted May 28, 2003 Just as an aside. Doing a hard reset returns it to out of the box state. So would i need to reinstall the update? I really need to do one, my phones pretty screwy now.
Guest ajb3000 Posted May 28, 2003 Report Posted May 28, 2003 No, the phone will keep the newer software version through a hard reset.
