Network Problem in US with SPV

I am having problems with an Orange SPV in the US. I have switched the Network to "Automatic", but I get "Network Denied, Searching" on the Homepage. I have tried entering "PCS" in the band selection, but I get a "Cannot be saved error". I have a textbox for Band Selection as opposed to a drop down. I have SIM unlocked the phone and T-Mobile SIMs give me the same error.

I had the same problem, and I'm on T-Mobile, but I got it all figured out. Let me just list the settings on my phone so you can get an idea of what I did. Under networks make sure the selection is under Automatic. Once that is done, go to band selection and select PCS. I don't know why your phone would still deny the network settings or not let you switch over to PCS. The only thing I can figure is maybe restarting your phone after you select Automatic. I don't know that it would do anything, but it's worth a try. Also once you select PCS restart the phone as well. I don't know if I helped any, but hopefully so.

That is definately weird that you have a text box instead of a drop down. Hmmmmm... I don't know what to tell ya...

I have tried those settings, but no luck. The T-Mobile SIM card at least lets me see network selections in Settings - Telephony - Networks - Menu - Preferred Network . Unfortunately, I can't seem to enter any Band in the Band Selection textbox.

Are all the voicestreams checked? Under networks does it say that the current network is voicestream or something else? Have you tried using "find a new network?" I'm trying to remember all that I did when I was doing mine. It may not have just been switching it to PCS. I don't remember very well. Lot of help I am. :? I'm just going through all the settings on mine to make sure you have the same.

Something very strange is happening. I took the phone on the subway last night, turned it on, and I still received the "Network Denied" message. Now I know I won't get a signal in the NYC subways, so something is definately wrong. Also, with the Orange SIM card I don't see VoiceStream or VStream as one of the network providers available.

Its working now.

I reloaded the OS - no change. Then I did a Hard Reset and I was able to select the network bands (PCS). Now I just need to setup the GPRS for VoiceStream.
