Guest glynton Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 I'm quite pissed right now (been to £1 party for students at my union)... my mate just dared me to eat a whole 'Rocket Chili' raw, so i did.... and for god sake... if you ever read this... never eat a raw 'rocket Chili' or any kind of raw chili!... it's more painful than you could possibly imagine. I thought it'd be fine because i used a couple in my Chili con carne that i cooked tonight... but oh my god it's a different story when they're Raw!!!!! helpful advice from the Glynton
Guest Vector Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 hehe, i've also experienced eating a raw whole chili and i played a neat little trick on my nan which involved a green pepper and a chilli
Guest b1uepower Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Once my brother dared me to get a raw chilli.. i was in pain... if you drink milk its ment to cool it down... but i drank 3 liters of milk which made me sick.. so i was not very happy
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Heh, i think it's physically impossible to drink 8 pints or more of milk without throwing up

Guest vijay555 Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Hey glynton, i sympathise, but want to know definition of pain? You're cooking, with chillies, so you slice a couple up. You then wipe your eye, transferring oil of chilli directly into the eye. And go blind. And milk doesn't help. You wanna do like homer and coat your tongue in wax! V Oh, and Meaks, what you doin drinking at your age?!
Guest ClintEastman Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 You wanna do like homer and coat your tongue in wax! Homer tripping!!
Guest capt_janeway Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Guys if you think chilli in the eye is painful.....for goodness sake don't use the lav after chopping chillis unless you wash your hands first!! As Johnny Cash sung..."It burns, burns burns!"

Guest Mr_Protozoa Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Mmmmm Chillie Vodka, nice. Has anybody else had 'inferno' it's lovely. We've had raw chillie eating games here (student house) good fun. Alas my housemate has also had chilli oli in his eyes. The poor lad, was blind for the rest of the day.
Guest Palindrome Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 The reason milk helps after you dice with the chilli evil is that chilli oil is soluble in dairy based products. If you drink water or beer with the chilli the chilli oil will behave in a similar way to mixing car oil with water but without going all those rainbow colours (tho saying that, I've never inspected anyones mouth to see if there isn't a multispectral display!). So if you ain't got no milk then don't drink beer or water, it'll only make the pain worse. Or drink a stack of beer so the pain gets numbed. I remember my first hot curry. I was a slobbering dribbling twisted wreck cause there was no milk, just beer. And if you want the alitmate macho raw chilli eating stunt, get a scotch bonnet. Make sure you really nibble on those seeds if you want ultimate pain.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 hmmmm chilli  Paul we need a drooling smiley
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted May 31, 2003 Report Posted May 31, 2003 love hot food! the hotter the better! I sort of agree :? I had a vindaloo once just so I could say "I've had one " but to be honest the heat removed all the flavour so too hot can be a bit pointless IMHO as you still want flavour as well.
Guest glynton Posted May 31, 2003 Report Posted May 31, 2003 Just a little cooking Tip for you guys out there... When preparing Chillies, pour Sunflower Oil, or Olive oil on your hands so that if you get any Chilli juice on them, it sits ontop of the Oil and washes off easily. Glyn
Guest mores Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 eating bread is supposed to help wipe away the chili stuff.
Guest midnight Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 yer all soft gits :D i've eaten plenty of raw chili's, and my favourite meal is a phal  was dared to eat a raw dried chili seed, so, me being the daft git i am, put about 10 in at once, actually, it wasnt that bad, but hurt more coming out than it did going in, ouch, i wont do that again in a hurry
