Guest smartphone-web.com Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Digitimes News: Microsoft, undeterred by T-Mobile International’s decision to shelve the launch of its Tanager-codenamed smartphone, recently closed several deals with wireless telecom operators around the world. TeliaSonera, the largest telecom service provider in the Scandinavian region, with operations in Finland, Norway, Sweden and the Baltic States, announced on May 27 that it would begin selling a Microsoft-powered smartphone on June 2. Hong Kong-based Fortune Telecom will also begin selling the smartphone at the end of this month. Synergy Technologies will handle the distribution in Hong Kong and Macau. PPCW.net, an online news site, offers pre-order service for the Tanager smartphone for US$549.
