UPDATED: See attached PDF for full details!

You heard it here first!

Developer One (authors of CodeWallet Pro), will shortly be releasing 'Power Tasks' for Windows Powered SmartPhone.

I have been using a pre-release version of this software, and, I have to say, it really is excellent!

At last you can enjoy full Task sync and management with Outlook.

Developer One introduce the application as follows:

"Overview

Power Tasks greatly enhances the capabilities of your Smartphone to better manage your Outlook tasks/to-do list!

Power Tasks was optimized specifically for your Smartphone to help you use your phone as a very powerful task management tool. Going far beyond the built-in Tasks program, Power Tasks gives you the power to group your tasks by category, date, priority… Create, edit and modify tasks… quickly navigate your list, and personalize it to help you stay on top of all of your important to-dos!

Smart features like grouping, quick task entry and user defined subjects let you quickly enter new tasks, and when you need to edit the details, you’ve got all of the power you need."

So, did they just compile up the one in the SDK, or did they load it on a smartphone and write it from scratch? OK, it's not very fast out of the box, but most of the features listed here are exactly the same as the SDK demo task manager?

Can't upload the binary I'm afraid. Then again, as it's © the SDK, probably shoudn't anyway?

Check out a review on Jenneth's Site. I like it!

Because you wrote it :)

looks like a nice app, how annoying is the bug btw?

I was being coy....not trying to self promote! ;)

And I meant I like the program...not the review! (well...I like that too) :D

But...it wasn't annoying at all. I was only able to duplicate it once more so I will probably ask Jenneth to remove that part until I absolutely confirm that it is from the program itself and not something else on my phone. But I am running a pretty fresh install, as my phone is only a week or so old.

It didn't lock up the phone...just the app. I exited from task manager and went back in just fine....again only happened twice. Once by chance...then once by trying...but I couldn't get it to do it again.

That was a pre-release version for review. I believe it will be available soon.

Has anyone got the additional functions to work.

When in the quick task entry bar I type pt then when I hold down on # key it brings up symbols as normal but when I try to select : it does not put symbol in to quick task bar.

Any ideas?

Yep does that for me as well ;)

Apart from that I'm happy with this app due to the ability to sync with Outlook :)

also being able to configure the keys etc is a nice touch.

Nice work

I´m testing Power Tasks on my Tanager (Eurotel) and it does not work so nice, as I expected. Maybe I´m doing something wrong, but:

- I create new task, edit it and when I want to select category from Categories selection, the list is empty!

- I cannot change group name for my tasks. It´s (none) and there is no tool to rename it

- I have no idea, how to pick up any tasks from the list and group it different way. All is in one "group" labelled (none)

The category problem is a wierd thing that I have noticed as well. I'm not sure if it is a problem with the program or a problem with the OS.

What you have to do is put them in categories on your PC. One you use a category one time...it will show up on the list from that point on as far as I can tell.

You seem to have tasks grouped by category and no categories assigned so that's where the NONE comes from.

If you do the above...that fixes the problem.

Somebody mentioned the problem having something to do with POOM or something like that. I'm not sure what that is but maybe someone "in the know" could explain.

Thanks. It´s good to know, that it´s not a problem of my phone setup... I will check, what is possible to do on the PC, but I can definitelly select categories on the PC for any task.

Then after that...those categories should be available in the program. Post how you make out. I'll aske the developer his take on the problem.

I did it as you adviced - created one task in the PC and assigned any category from the list on the PC. Then synchronised it. And again edited the same task and assigned another category. Synchronised again. Over and over. Now I have list of categories in the SP and it seems working fine.

Here is the response I received from the developer. (VERY quickly may I add!)

"This is not incorrect behavior, Smartphone itself manages PIM categories a bit differently than PPC, (neither sync the master category list)

Suggestion: create one task in Outlook with all categories active. Sync it, then all of these categories will be available for use."

I sent them an E-mail about this problem a couple of days ago. No reply as yet.

I know the user guide states these additional functions are not supported but what is the point in listing them in the user guide if they don't work :?:
