Guest Soyale Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Tried a search but SD card returns no results which suggests the Search engine isn't working. A colleague and I both have 256MB Sandisk cards and within a week they've both been rendered unusable. I think it has something to do with a particular card reader we both used. The symptoms are: * Smartphone/Pocket PC ask for them to be formatted but fomatting doesn't render them usuable * Windows XP cannot open them (insert card into drive) * CNetXs Flash Format cannot see them Does anyone have any ideas if there's a way we could bring them back to life or is all lost? (I don't care about the data on them). Thanks jp
Guest MoRFLeZ Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 I remember someone stating this problem before. I myself have a SanDisk 256mb card, but I only use it via the phone/cradle, and not via a card reader. But something really should come up via a search *ponder*.
Guest mavisdavis Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Thought it was only me with this problem  I used to have a CF Camera that i bought a 64MB card for and it also said that it needed formating so i did and lost everything (didn`t know then what I know now) so I tried a Travelmate 6in1 reader and it said Card was unreadable. So when i bought my SPV I thought 6in1 would read the 256MB SD card no probs but it either says USB Device not ready or Please Format card....So in my experience be patient and stick with phone+cradle
