first letter missing at received messages

have any of you guys encountered receiving messages without the first letter of the message?

its weird, and i dont know how to remedy it.

please help.

I think this is only a problem when receiving the extended messages - I've had the problem when receiving messages from my gf who has a nokia....

not really, i've had msgs lacking the first letter from an SE T68i. and the mesg was short.

If you send a long message (>160 characters) from the SAP to a different phone, you will noticed the message starts with an @ symbol (this is the SAPS way of defining a multipart message). So when you recieve a multipart SMS on the SAP it removes the first digit as it presumes it an @ symbol. While this works great for recieveing messages from other SAPS, it's annoying when recieving messages from all the other phones on the market. Nothing much can be done about it except getting the sender to add an extra character at the front of multipart messages.
