Guest terminater2_uk Posted May 31, 2003 Report Posted May 31, 2003 Anyone know anything about them? Just bought an All in One X75 which I've hooked up to my PC and all works fine. But can I network it? Not a chance. I have two compaq presario 3190's both identical and running XP home. They are networked through the XP setup wizard and all works correctly. But when I try to setup the printer on my "client" PC it wont have it. It can see it on my computer but when I try to use it, it says the host computer doesn't have the correct driver installed. Any ideas? Its driving me crazy!!!
Guest Firaas Posted May 31, 2003 Report Posted May 31, 2003 Ah, you can select XP to hold the driver available. If this doesn't work, install the drivers using the CD on your second PC, and then try installing the remote printer.
Guest terminater2_uk Posted May 31, 2003 Report Posted May 31, 2003 Ah, you can select XP to hold the driver available. what does that mean? And I cant install the drivers on the other machine because the disk automatically searches for the printer first  Also, I have sharing enabled on the host pc printer but it doesnt appear on the client one?
Guest Firaas Posted May 31, 2003 Report Posted May 31, 2003 what does that mean? And I cant install the drivers on the other machine because the disk automatically searches for the printer first  Printer > Properties > Sharing > Additional Drivers Make sure the drivers for your second system are selected. If they install disk is searching for printer - can you specify that it is on network? I.e. ComputerPrinter
Guest terminater2_uk Posted May 31, 2003 Report Posted May 31, 2003 No, not on the install disk. But if I use the Printer Wizard on the client computer, I can see the printer on hostcomputerlexmarkx75. But when I click on that it says the host computer will now install the necessary driver, I click next and am told that the host computer doesn't have the correct driver installed. but its the driver off the disk and works fine on the host pc. I'm really confused. By the way I phoned Lexmark tech support yesterday. They first sent me instructions on how to network a printer, which is what I had been trying to do  so I rang back and was told that the x75 cannot be networked. Surely ANY printer can be networked?
