Guest Posted December 7, 2002 Report Posted December 7, 2002 I don't know how to recreate this problem (and I don't want to try) but someone else reported the same thing on the newsgroups when they changed their homescreen layout to one of the orange ones I think. Mine occurred after creating my own home XML file - I had to keep going to one home screen and then back to my custom one to get it to refresh with the new changes I made - I definitely changed to Orange a couple of times. Anyway, onto the bug. When I switched on my phone the next morning, it wouldn't boot up. I switched it off and on only to find it had lost all my user settings - home screen, colour scheme, owner information, e-mail account information + other stuff that I can't think of now. My bookmarks, contacts all remained intact. It's nothing to do with something dodgy in my XML file as now the phone is working properly again. Sorry this is so long but it's very difficult to explain concisely!

Guest Posted December 9, 2002 Report Posted December 9, 2002 That isn't the problem. I don't have a problem getting a home xml file to persist through a restart of the phone. Rather after restarting the phone having constantly switched between the home pages whilst I tried to get some alignment right, all my user settings were erased. That included - mail settings (mail server, how much to download), profile settings, went back to the original home page (my new home file was still there for selection), the add/remove programs list was erased etc. etc.
