Hi guys just thought Id do a poll to see how long your first SPV lasted b4 you had to get a replacement.

I'm now on my fourth SPV. The first 2 has ink leak in the screen, and the third locked up and I couldn't unfreeze it. But fingers crossed phone number four has been going for about 2 months now with no sign of a problem.

my first one lasted less than a month, the second one is ok though!

By the way, we had a similar poll before asking how many replacements

each of us had! Some people were into their 5th replacement!!!

Still on my first SPV and happy apart from the crappy paint

I hope HTC have improved on that with the Tanager :?:

Has anyone here thought about changing thier SPV for a Tanager when they are released, considering its the same platform?

Proud owner of SPV and XDA

No probs here, still on my first, and had it since end November, or whenever it was.

I wouldn't buy the tanager, but I am keen to see the Mitac when it comes out. Smartphone in a clam design would be great.

Ok I may have my months mixed up, it wasnt a pre-release but it was the first model the shop had in, must have been early november.

Have to say there are a few niggly things pis*ing me off with it now, as mentioned, the paintwork is very scratched, the keys are Very sticky, especially the * key (probably due to it getting dropped in the sand on a visit to the beach a few months back). Also the volume down button has been knocked inwards and will not function anymore. But overall still usable!!

Got mine at the end of April and I'm on my second - the first wouldn't boot up when I got it home from the shop! This one is going fine apart from a big stripe of dust at the bottom left of the screen...

No. 3 for me -

SPV 1 R.I.P Feb '03 (stuck in headset profile)

SPV 2 R.I.P April '03 (loads of dust, could have cleaned it but a new one was better )

SPV 3 still going strong, although the paint is chipped in places (damn keys!)

For me the SPV would be perfect if it was built a bit better - we might hate 'em, but my Nokia 3330 is 2 years old and has hardly a scratch on it (never changed cover either)!

I'm still on my first SPV from when they first hit the shops in November, but saying that I developed the dreaded "Headset profile" problem over the weekend, probably the same time this thread started knowing my luck

So will probably be getting a replacement sometime within the next week. Shame cause other than that it was working fine no probs, odd bit of scratching on the case and screen, but nothing you wouldn't expect with it being taken on a number of alchol fueled nights.

good to see that these phones are lasting well, Rob.P have u tried putting the headset jack into the socket and wiggling it about a bit, that cured my phone when it was stuck in the Headset profile!!

Yeah, it worked a couple o times, but then kept flicking back to headset. Got a cocktail stick out and found the microswitch and was able to get back to normal but it would never last longer than a couple of seconds, so I think the switch is knackered.

O well, phoned Orange yesterday and did the £30 emergency care thing, first time I have not had insurance, so sods law dictates that the only time I don't have it is when I need it. New baby should be turning up within the next couple o hours. Thank f**k for USBTerm and large SD cards is all I can say

Still on my first one!!!

Got mine at the end of January, it's got a bit of dust and the odd scratch (including one on the screen altho it's not too bad) but on the whole, it's good!

Having said that, one of the guys in work is on his 3rd since december (but i think at least one of those was due to abuse/loss while under the influnce of alcohol!)
