My java plugin isn't working... any ideas?

This is getting really annoying... when I click on a javascript link nothing happens... Thought it was a problem with the Opera browser I'm using but I tried it with MIE6 too and same thing...

I downloaded the J2ME Runtime environment and installed it even though it said I had a later version already installed... hoped that would do the trick but it didn't so now I'm turning to you guys... hope someone has the knowhow to help...
