actually, i'd expect a photo caller id function to be standard for a feature-rich phone such as the SPV.

the t68i introduced me to being able to SEE who's calling me, and i don't want to live without it.

once i get my SVP or similar smartphone, i'd be willing to shell out €15 max. for such an app.

or pester MS to include it in their next update

There are other apps out there that don't cost as much or anything for that matter. I'd go with one of those.

I have tried all of the caller ID apps - and personally I find the combination of callface & smartface to be better than any of the apps that are not free!

I have a shortcut from my homescreen to callface (which is quicker to access than any of the others) and my smartface caller pics are displayed with custom backgrounds which I can design myself.

What could be better!!?

I agree Dr! I think Smartface is great and although I don't use the callface system with it - I think being able to customise your own screens is the best thing possible.

Thanks to the developers!!

i think all media and knowledge should be free

None of this copyright etc.... (although it has a point)

But to a Smartphone user any software should be free.

So developers should work for free then and not be rewarded for

their hard work and time?

I think the IA caller ID app will really come of age when we have the ability to create our own templates. It is a LOT better than the V2R version (in my opinion) and is really easy to use.

Smartface is another nice one, and I especially like how you can have any sized picture (up to the screen size obviously) for a photo ID, (which is one thing that the IA version is lacking). The ability to edit the registry and make your own background is nice also. This makes it ideal for people who enjoy tweaking the registry, and generally mucking around to get exactly what they want to display.

IA version does have a bit of an advantage in that you can have different templates for different people, and no registry editing is necessary for a pretty background. Given how powerful it is I would definitely recommend it to everyone else, and I think when we can design our own templates it will be prefereable over Smartface except for the fixed size of the photos.

as mentioned above, ia caller will be excellent when we can make out own templates...

IA Caller ID does allow you have any size picture (actually there's about half a dozen sizes), up to fullscreen - you dont have to use the templates.
