spv in cradle causes adsl connection to die

anyone else experienced anything similar? When my spv is put in the cradle & ActiveSync kicks in, a little while later my adsl connection just dies :cry:

I managed to catch a little error dialogue at some point saying:

Cannot connect phonebook entry

Error 756: this connection is already being dialled

I don't know if it's any help but a while back I had a similar problem with a handspring PDA and a BT Openworld ADSL modem.

I never completely figured the cause but after numerous calls to tech support I ended up being 99% sure it was to do with power. The computer was relatively old and I don't think the USB bus had enough power to handle both devices.
