hi,

my SPV just reset itself, and when it came back on it was as if it was straight out the box.. it had the original homescreen on it, all the files were back to how they were when i first got it, and it has re-locked the app signing, i just plugged it back into the cradle, and my pc started the "create a partnership" set up like when i put it on for the first time... trouble is it wont let me enter the phone name into active sync as i says it already has a phone with that name, does anyone know what the hell happened to my phone, and does anyone know how i can call my activesync id what it used to be...

bloody annoyed by all this

hoping for some help

thanks in advance

Auto reset time  it can happen but not normally to the extent you have discribed :?

with the phone out of the cradle in Activsync go to file and choose Delete Partnership then place the phone in the cradle and create the partnership again.

What I mean is that the phone has done a semi hard reset this can happen if the registry becomes corrupt, this is what appears to have happened.

numerous things can cause this.

thats not good...

um, i deleted the partnership as you stated, when i created a new partnership , it didnt ask me what to calll the ID.. just that i bought Gemstone, and the reg code that came with it is dependant on my activesync ID being the name i set originally

any idea how to change it?

I have a theory on the resets. Every time I have had this problem it is after installing or uninstalling something. I think it happened twice when I installed different versions of Task Manager.

There may be clear examples we could post of actions that cause a reset.

Unclelimey, did you install or uninstall anything the day (or whenever you last switched it off) before the reset.

i can be seen slapping my head in disgust at my own stupidity somewhere in bristol right now
