has anyone experienced this? i was unlocking my spv and suddenly it stops at 66 percent and says invalid code, aborting. I am using the spv unlock program and have unlocked quite a few units except this one. Does it have anything to do with the canary version? it is 0.99 while the others i have unlocked are 0.98. any help would be appreciated. thanks

when i got the phone it already came with the new canary version. Anyways, i already found a way to unlock the phone even though its the new version ( thank god ). First i flash the phone with an old OS upgrade, anything will do actually i.e. Orange's update, then run the spv unlock and voila! phone is now unlocked, and then i just flash back to the latest smart OS and its good to go. hope this helps some peeps having problems.

Pare what country version of Orange update did you actually used? My friend tried to do it your way to his Tanager (also with bootloader version 0.99) but got an error message during the update that the phone ID is incorrect (he downloaded the Orange UK update).

Will appreciate your help, maraming salamat!

you can only save your ipsm folder to the mmc. you cannot save the ROM image.

ok this is the trick to do the orange update for phones that get an error.

first method: phone is synced , run orange update and wait till it finishes. If this fails, some phones fail i dont know why. try method two.

method two: enter phone in bootloader mode (canary mode) then before connecting to the pc, disable the wcesscom.exe to turn off activesync, then connect the phone and run the orange update, this will do the trick.

These methods have been confirmed by me, as i have already unlocked a dozen SAPs cos me and my friends are all globe users. Hope this helps

i forgot to address the other question. " how do i save my OS to the mmc which is the latest version?" answer is you dont. I assume that when you do the orange update, you are having problems unlocking your phone coz of the canary version .99. and that you have the latest smart 1.3.7.8 update to flash your phone AFTER you do the ORANGE update to unlock it.

thanks mebius! now i understand. where can i get a copy of the 1.3.7.8 smart update? if anyone has it, i'm willing to pay to have it burned in a cd. tnx again!

hey thanks a lot grifter. i already downloaded the update. now i'll try the procedure -> orange update, unlock then 137 update. hope this works. thanks again!

it worked...tnx again!!! the only thing you have to do after installing the 137 update is to remove the shortcuts to the picture manager and sound manager under the /IPSM/Windows/Start Menu folder. these applications were installed by the Orange update from UK.
