dudes,i sent 2 wav files from a nokia 7650 via infra red.the first .wav file was 67kb and the 2nd is around 160kb. the first .wav file played fine,i'm now using it as my sms alert. but the second .wav file just gives me a beep whenever i try to play it. smart explorer says its playing, but i only get 1 beep.what could be the problem?would it be the size?i hope someone can help me.thanks much!

not the size mate, probably somthing to do with the way it is encoded.

do you think it could be?you may be right because the first .wav file is just a short voice message that says, "captain, incoming message!".while the second is the song, "in the club". could that be the problem?

i appreciate it,dude but its the "in the club" (second file) that wont play.the "incoming message" .wav file that i have works.

since you got a soundcard on your desktop, you'll probably have gotten some kind of sound-editing software with your card.

just open up the .wav and "save as", or maybe adjust some settings like stereo->mono then save it. this'll probably give you a "clean" wave file without compression.

or post it here, maybe we can do something about it.

I'm tempted to say .. "dude etc etc"

But I'll just say this instead: If you have the file on your Smartphone, can't you just copy it via ActiveSync explore, and copy it to your PC!?

morflez and mores,

i'd appreciate it if you'd spare me the sarcasm.i'm so new with the tanager and i hope you realize that both of you were once like what i am now.

Have you had any luck putting it on the PC from the phone and trying to convert it there?

i wasn't being sarcastic, i was pointing to a possible way of getting your wave file to work. i reat the part where you said it was being transfered from one phone to another, but i *assumed* you'd know about moving files to and from your spv.

i even offered to help you convert the file.

the "sheesh" comment was for your "dude ..." remark. i found that rather offensive. but after reading your other posts a couple of times, i found out you rather like that word and it's probably not meant the way it sounded to me.

allright now STOP this discussion and send us the file so we can convert it !!

So the file may just have been corrupt then :?

At least it's ok now.

*sob* ... that wasn't sarcasm!! I'm MUCH worse when I'm sarcastic *nod self*

I'm just nudging ya for your excessive use of the word "dude" - much like my constant use of *insert action here*... *nod self*
