Guest youngerpants Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 Any Linux guys here....? I rebuilt my home linux box on Sunday (a laptop, not my PS2 linux) and for some reason everytime i set my host name (using the command "hostname titan") it does set the hostname. Then I update my hosts file (/etc/hosts) and all is well. However, when I reboot the box, it loses the hostname and cause a couple of daemons to fail (namely httpd & sendmail). Why is my hostname not sticking... it always has in the past? (nb, linux version RedHat 7.2, twm desktop) newsgroups have been no help, so modaco could be my only hope
