SPV and Email

Hi everyone, I got my SPV today and I am reeeally satisfied with it..I just have one question for you guys..when you download your email, can you erase some messages from your SPV without having them erased from your Inbox on the web?? :? :?

If this is not possible it is a really bad thing in my opinion.. :x :x

Deleting them from your deleted items folder before your next sync should stop the SPV cleaning up the server.

Dear Monolithix, thanks for your answer :lol: ..I just tried to do that..I sent two mails to my inbox, downloaded them on my SPV, deleted them from my SPV Inbox and then deleted them from my SPV Deleted Messages folder as well..then I downloaded my email again..

Unfortunately it didn't work :? :shock: :D ..the two messages have been deleted again from my web mail Inbox..

That's so weird and unlogical..have you got any other idea?

i think it's down to the setup and type of your mail server.

That's really bad to hear :? :shock: :x :cry: ...

I do think that is a huge problem (or let's say bug?) cause it is logical to keep your SPV with as much free space as you can cleaning up emails that you don't need..

But of course you wouldnt expect this means they are automatically cleaned from your server as well (where on the other hand you can keep also bigger emails or those that you dont need because of the bigger amount of space)..

I choose not to sync the inbox in the active sync options and this seems to work. I can get a copy on my phone and leave the original on my email.

If you are on a corporate network then I don't know. Ask the system administrator?? :shock:

U are right tt5th I did that as well, the problem is that if I am erasing an email from my SPV it is automatically erased from my server..so if I haven't downloaded it on Outlook Express (or other software) I am losing it..

And that sucks.. :cry: :cry: :x

Now you see mine doesn't do that, not sure whats different though.

I use the orange.net email and outlook on my home pc. I can download email to my phone and erase it but when I click download on my outlook the email is still there.....

I do think as well it is down to your server..or maybe you have to set some strange option that I don't know (either on your server or on your SPV).. :? :?
