Guest jabez Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 I have posted this question in other threads before but I have yet to receive a satisfactory reply. Is there a way to re-send a text message that has not been sent (Message Sending Failed)? It is quite frustrating to re-type a message, especially a long one, when the sending has failed. Please note that I have already tried going to the "Sent Items" folder but when you forward the message, there so much "extra" info that goes with it. I just want to send the original message. Is anybody aware of an application that handles text messaging?
Guest mlkanapi Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 If you have not used SMS tools to delete your messages in the Inbox and Sent folders: 1. Go to the show folders option while in Inbox/SMS 2. View your messages in the Sent folder 3. After you find the last message that failed to send, 4. Choose to Forward the message to your intended recipient after removing the unnecessary attachments including the FW: 5. Use the SMS character counter to make sure your message does not exceed 160 characters 6. Send You're all set
Guest dinoalbert Posted June 4, 2003 Report Posted June 4, 2003 Please note that I have already tried going to the "Sent Items" folder but when you forward the message, there so much "extra" info that goes with it. I just want to send the original message. jabez knows already the procedure mentioned by mlkanapi but he just doesnt want the extra job of removing the unnecessary "extra" infos before sending the sms  sorry jabez I guess there's no app or any other way for that yet.. but at least deleting those extra infos is better and less effort than re-typing the whole long message again
Guest ppcsurfr Posted June 4, 2003 Report Posted June 4, 2003 I guess we'll just have to wait for the guys at DAT... the makers of SMS Tools to come up with their latest. The one that has an option to resend Failed SMS. Mabuhay ~ Carlo (ppcsurfr) President
Guest jabez Posted June 4, 2003 Report Posted June 4, 2003 Thanks guys for the reply. Well, I guess we can't have it all, can we? I was just wondering why a high-tech phone like the SAP could not have a very user-friendly "Nokia-feature" like retaining the unsent message. It could place the unsent message in the Outbox as typed. I'm sure the program for this would not be sophisticated because the "ancient" 3210's had it. My guess is that the developers are not so keen on text messaging. For them, the SMS capability of the SAP was just "one of those standard features". Any Filipino developers yet? I'm sure they'd come up with apps/features that are "texting?" friendly.
Guest jabez Posted June 4, 2003 Report Posted June 4, 2003 BREAKING NEWS! BREAKING NEWS! I just read in a thread that a New Version of SMS Tools has a "resending message" feature. Unfortunately, the thread also says that the new version is not available publicly. May I request the experts in this forum to look into these ... please! Note: I wanted to post a link to the topic but I don't know how

Guest jabez Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 Sir Carlo! Thanks for the info. What I would to request for you to look into is if they have already made this Updated Version of SMS Tools available to the public. I know that you have better access to the information regarding this matter. Mabuhay ka, Kabayan!
Guest matanglawin Posted August 8, 2003 Report Posted August 8, 2003 The bigger problem is...if you send txt to multiple receipients. How can one tell which of his/her contacts did not receive the said message after getting several "message sent" alerts and a couple of "failure" alerts too?
Guest dewslat Posted August 11, 2003 Report Posted August 11, 2003 i really hate it when msgs are unsent.... it takes too long to forward sent msgs.. are there any other 3rd party software dedicated to SMS and no email stuff!!!!!!!!!!
Guest Gecko Posted August 19, 2003 Report Posted August 19, 2003 Another related question: Is there a limit to the number of names and numbers you can place in the To: field when sendng SMS to multiple recipients?
Guest mlkanapi Posted August 19, 2003 Report Posted August 19, 2003 @Gecko I have sent a series of about 5 messages to multiple recipients (about 10 -15 at a time) and I feel it is Opreator dependent. Smart occasionally drops the series and you wouldn't know who got your message but Sun Cellular does it without any problems!
Guest X3L_NAGA Posted August 20, 2003 Report Posted August 20, 2003 how can i delete the unsent item in my outbox? i cannot delete it... could you help me... thanks in advance
Guest rodnav Posted August 20, 2003 Report Posted August 20, 2003 how can i delete the unsent item in my outbox? i cannot delete it... could you help me... thanks in advance have you recently used SMS2mail? i've had these problem 3 times after using that program. the first 2x, what i did was rename and deleted cemail.vol in IPSM, then restarted the phone. this basically "hard resets" the message folders in SAP meaning all the messages and folders are erased when you do this. then on the 3rd time, i simply ignored the problem as the messages in the outbox weren't bothering just as long as i didn't synchronize my email with outlook with active sync. so there they stayed for a month. yesterday, i encountered the phantom sms problem as mentioned numerous times in various threads. i read through EMgenius' way to solve it and it worked quite well. So that made me think that dbView_sp ( this is the program that lets you edit database registry, if i got that correctly - well anyway read through that thread about phantom sms) could solve that SMS outbox thing. and eureka. it worked!!!! :D I posted what i did on this thread i started awhile back. outbox messages
