Have been talking via email so to save time and to share ideas, this is what has been discussed so far

Deleting the registry key for Smart Explorer should fix your problem, but be careful, playing with the registry can recert the phone or even kill it if you are not careful.

I presume you have the regedit app, if not you can get it by going to mono's site www.monolithix.org

the location of the registry key is in HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareBinarysSmart Explorer you should be able to safely remove this.

You say that it was not installed properly, what was the problem with the install?

Thanks for your response Ashley,

first I don't have the HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareBinarys key in the registry, i think i might of deleted it before,

when i installed the software i think my SD card was locked and it could not create the directory in the Storage CardProgram Files folder.

now i have an entry in the remove programs that i cant get rid of.

the key that i think is related is the hkey_local_machinesecurityappinstallbinarys-smart explorer

but every time i try to delet it says unable to perform this operation!!!!

My last reply

Ok see if this helps, switch the phone off then back on again, then try and remove the entry.

If the information is still in the resident memory you will be unable to remove it. In the location you have stated there should be three entries install, uninstall and Role.

Another option is to rename the keys (but only if you are sure you know what you are doing) that way when you try and reinstall Smart Explorer it will not see the keys it’s looking for.

Hope this helps.

I replied to your email and included an attachment for you to try but it was returned with the following

message, "exceeds mailbox storage quota 554 5.0.0 Service unavailable"

You could try asking midnight as he plays with the registry all the time

so he may have some ideas.

Failing that if you do a hard reset then you will lose the decert and it will need to be done again.
