Sadly, although the review seems quite fair (with the possible expection of the poor radio performance, which I definitely don't find the case?), the phone is getting a bit of a hammering on SlashDot by the Anti-MS crowd. P

Guest amo Posted June 4, 2003 Report Posted June 4, 2003 Cons: *poor RF * poor sound quality * no easy way to switch tasks * phone gets sluggish at times * terrible keypad * camera attachment could be better * could not get WAP browser working * no J2ME Poor sound quality, I dont aggree as it is not inteded to playback mp3's in true 192kbs (isnt it just the new audigy 2s that do that???) Switching tasks is eay enough to do when you have experience with the phone, keypad could perhaps be made bigger but this would mean a bigger phone and personally i dont need a keypad that look like one of thos old magic remotes, the camera attatcement is one of the best imho! Especially for its rivals at the time of launch, for example the 7210, t68i, motorola t720i (all out in november). He couldn't get wap to work because the guys a fool and doesnt know what he's talking about - not a wap phone, who needs it when you have PIE?! (or u could use webwapselect) and no J2ME - fair enough but who needs it when you have gnuBoy, nes emu and all the rest!

I actually ran into one of these anti-M$ freaks in a bar not too long ago.... he started talking about how happy he was with his IPOD (big ass mp3 player made by apple)... shortly after that I blew him away with my SPV packing over 30 games, streaming video, caller pictures and also plenty of mp3's ....... and all he could say was 'yeah i've been in that market for years already, i used to have a nokia communicator ..' (LMAO) pff unixheads ... get a life

(All of which they've lost so far. I use Linux, Mozilla, No Server or PDA, Nintendo 64, Casio Watch and Motorola Cellphone) Oh yeh, this guy makes we want to through my SPV away and follow his lead. Maybe even get a Lada! :roll:
