Guest fozzie Posted June 4, 2003 Report Posted June 4, 2003 Looks interesting. I guess it's like T9 but with 6 keys instead of 9. Does that mean that there are more word options per set of keystrokes? BTW, don't bother downloading the app - I thought it would install something on the PC that you play around with but it doesn't. It's the PocketPC app that it installs
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted June 4, 2003 Report Posted June 4, 2003 Yep, 1.5x as many presumably (not counting 7 and 9). Faster i guess, depends how many words it gets right first time though
Guest fozzie Posted June 4, 2003 Report Posted June 4, 2003 Hmmm, thinking about this (which is always dangerous!) I'm trying to see how it could be quicker than using the on screen keyboard. It takes the same number of keystrokes if it 'guesses' right and so you have saved maybe a little bit of time because you haven't had to physically move the stylus so much. If it guesses wrong, then you need extra keypresses to select the correct word, which then takes longer. So what's the net result - an increase in overall typing speed or a reduction ?!?! I can see how it may be quicker for someone that doesn't know their way around the keyboard but anyone else? Who's got a Pocket PC to try?
