I had a missed call/voicemail last week and the o_o icon is STILL on my screen. How do I clear it?

It is easy if you know what to do

This as you may know is caused when you hang up too early after listening to a message.

There are two ways to remove the icon, 1, leave yourself another message then listen to

it and with the options delete it then hang up.

2, Ask Orange to reset it for you.

This happens all the time and is really annoying. There are two ways to solve this.

The first one and the one that usually works for me is to ring your voice mail again and listen to your message again if there is more than one you may have to listen to them all but it is usually just the first one. When it is playing either delete it (key 3) or save it (key 2). Then you just hang up. The voice mail icon should then disappear. It usually only stays if you listened to your message but didn't save it or delete it.

If it is still there then you will have to call yourself and leave a message, Call your voicemail and then listen to the message you just left and delete it. That should get rid of it.

Hope that helps.

And you forgot the other option...

..disable the answerphone altogether as I did, but then I never used that:

a) People that need to find me know where

:D People that I want to find me are told where

c) And the real truth is - people that REALLY need to find you - will always do so!

Just being a smartarse, please ignore 8)

I just posted that above  [edit] not madu's post

Also there are some that believe this problem is only on the SPV, it's not.

It is a network problem and does happen on other handsets.

Sorry awarner I didn't mean to repeat what you said! We must have been posting at the same time.

And you're right about it being an Orange problem and not just an SPV problem. My girlfriend has a Sony Ericsson T68i and it does it all the time on hers. She used to be on O2 where you could just hang up and it would automatically save the message for you. No matter how many times I tell how to stop it from happpening, she just hangs up and ends up with the symbol on constantly.

So she never knows when she has a message, which kind of defeats the point of having an answer message service. Orange really should sort it out as no other operator has this problem and it can't be that hard to resolve. Or maybe they like the fact that people have to phone their answer service several times and leave themselves messages just to get rid of the symbol. Means a few more pence for them.

I must have been tired, should not have commented like that sorry

Makes you wonder as this problem has been around for years :?
