HELP! I'm new to the smart phone and whenever I try to download applications such as pocket candy it tells me it has not been signed and thus the installation fails. What can i do to get past this?

Welcome to the forum Lemongrass!!

You'll need to software de-cert your phone, try the Orange OTA option if you are on Orange(?)

You have to de-cert your phone as Orange smartphones only run Microsoft signed Applications, much like drivers are signed in win2k and XP (although u can still install non-signed drivers in windows which you can't do with apps on the phone  ). The de-cert will allow your phone to run non-MS signed apps and its an Orange method (assuming you're on Orange) which adds some legality (you have to pretend you're a developer but i'm sure they don't mind!)

you have to de-certify the phone, check the sticky above your post and it will tell you how you do it

I did it the other day (also an spv newbie), it kicks ass!!

There's loads of info on these boards, and on the coolsmartphone site here

Take it easy,

Joel

Nope, there's another way to do a de-cert

You'll need this application and follow this guide but using the application as it eases the process (read the description of the application and the de-cert process to get an understanding of it before giving it a go) :D
