Guest Machineman Posted June 7, 2003 Report Posted June 7, 2003 Hi, I was wondering if there is a application to test your skins on the pc instead of copy it to your phone and back (it takes a long time). CU
Guest Vector Posted June 7, 2003 Report Posted June 7, 2003 Not as far as a i know mate, it think everyone just tests them out on the phone
Guest Machineman Posted June 7, 2003 Report Posted June 7, 2003  Ai takes such a long time but if there is no other way we do it like that :D  :D  Thanks.

Guest James Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 sorry mate, my friend is not using it anymore so cant help!
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 You have to fire up the emulator through the eMbedded tools suite. I'm pretty sure theres a command line command you can use but i've never found it. I just have the "hello world" project that i compile to start the emu. To apply your skins search for .xml files (i think in the embedded tools dir) until your find home.xml, then replace it with the skin you want to test.
Guest Machineman Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 I try to find a com line but I do not know how to start because the prog opens and close at the same time. But the good thing is now I have the keyboard 4 the SPV and I can work in the notepad on the spv very easy. So this solves the prob also ;-)
Guest drblow Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 I don't think there is any better way of testing skins than putting them on the phone m8! That's what all the pro skinners do. Even if you can get the emulator working, the colours shown on the pc screen are alot darker than they appear on the phone - so it's best to test things on the phone anyway! What you said about notepad is a good tip - but you still have to change/reload the skin to affect any changes. Yeah, it's hassle, but it's the only way!!
Guest Machineman Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 Yes it's true that I have to reload the skins before ya see the changes but it works a little faster. It's the best I can have now so I do that thanks ya all :-) :-) :-) CU m8s
