Affraid not  apparently the Axim IR is not compatable with the SPV thel will not talk to each other :D

You are not alone as I have one as well but it could be that the axim needs bettter drivers app to talk?.

I'm getting the same error, its really annoying since I'd like to ba able to take advantage of the Axim's to improve the wireless web browsing experience. Any wireless browsing experience would be nice at the minute, haven't been able to get a GPRS connection with my SPV for the last week or so.

Incidentaly, there is a reallly good forum for the axim over at Aximsite. (that link should take you to a referral signup page for the forum, if I get the most signups I win a case for the Axim so get clicking  )

P.S. I waiting for word from the authors of connect2internet pro if their software will allow modem communication between the SPV and my Axim so if I get anything positive back from them I'll let you all know.

Sorry to bring this old topic up again but I have an update for any Axim users out there. After upgrading to WM2003 I'm getting limited success using my SPV as a modem for it. Here's what I've done

Axim:

Turn off accept all incoming beams.

Select modem as Geeric IRDA

Number is *99#

Username, password and Domain all left blank

Baud rate 14400

Don't wait for dial tone

Wait for credit card 0secs

Extra init: +cdgcont=1,"IP","orangeinternet", "",0,0

Conection settings

DAta bits 8

Parity none

stop bits 1

Flow control Software

Don't do anything with Terminal

Server assigned IP

Don't use slip, software compression or IP header compression

Server assigned addresses.

Connect on the Axim and activate the IR modem on the SPV (approx 1" between the IR ports).

Keep activating and de-activating the IR modem on the SPV until the connected arrows appear, if the Axim time out reconnect again. Eventually makes a connection for me, not an ideal way of working but at least its better than nothing.

Before anyone asks I haven't received my upgrade CD yet (should be with me tomorrow), I was lucky enough to catch the WM2003 patch "testing" that went on at Aximsite last week and did it the dodgy way. If you don't know about it don't bother asking as I won't be giving any details. I only used the semi-illegal way since I had the CD on order and had been billed for the upgrade already.

I also have the same problem as you guys, i find it really annoying as i love the Axim but i have to carry that and my HP658 to get emails whilst away, from what i have heard about the 2003 upgrade it really slows the axim up.

That was the version that was sent out with new Axims, the patch which was on their web site briefly works well, it seems to be faster than PC2002 was. Stil have problems with programs not working with WM2003 though
