Guest The PocketTV Team Posted June 7, 2003 Report Posted June 7, 2003 This problem was reported by several people using the Orange SPV. When installing an application that installs a dll file (e.g. PocketTV, which installs tgetfile.dll in its installation folder), the CAB installer sometimes asks something like: "It is necessary to restart your phone in order to complete the installation, do you want to do it now". Answering YES causes the phone to restart but will likely re-lock the phone if it had been unlocked. Answering NO pauses no problem, and since restarting the phone in that case is not necessary, you don't even have to worry about restarting it later.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted June 7, 2003 Report Posted June 7, 2003 Could it be dodgy code? as I have had apps install and restart and never had this problem :? Which version of PocketTV has this been reported on? as I may give it a go to try it out.

It has been reported to occur with all versions of PocketTV that include a dll in the CAB file. The problem does not involve any code from PocketTV, and we don't use any Post-install dll whatsoever, just a plain, regular, totally ordinary CAB file. You can get the latest from www.pockettv.com . It is possible that the problem is triggered by something else that they installed on their phones. We have not been able to reproduce the problem, but some people say it exists.
