Guest ajpena Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 Guys I need help. I can't find the folder storage Card anywhere. I already bought this 128MB card and it says no card found. I'm running out of space. It's getting Hot in Here!!!!
Guest ppcsurfr Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 try restarting your SAP with the card in the slot. The open up your File Explorer... you'll see it there. Tell us if it still doesn't appear... Mabuhay ~ Carlo (ppcsurfr) president
Guest ajpena Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 Nothing. I've tried that already. Maybe I should just go to Smart and have them change the phone (same model though). Will I still get all the Info (contacts and such) back the moment I activesync it? Plus now I installed Smart Amp. I just wanted to see if it will fit. Now I can't delete the darn thing. Grrr... Ok fine it's my fault. I'm a dumb ass (but that's redundant). Any clues?
Guest Xander Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 Try running Windows Media Player then exit. Then check your file explorer again. Works everytime for me (which is not that often anyway). Maybe because the program tries all locations for media files so the storage card is refreshed. Won't hurt to try.
Guest ajpena Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 wala pa rin eh. bad trip na. i'll go nalang to smart and have them check it out. change the whole phone for that matter. will let you know what happens. if it all works out, then i can move on to other questions. for now no space for that. i mean literally. by the way no answer to 'will i get all my data if i activsync a new phone.?' would anyone know?
Guest grifter Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 @ajpena, it's possible that the mmc is defective. have you tried using a different mmc/sd?
Guest ppcsurfr Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 by the way no answer to 'will i get all my data if i activsync a new phone.?' would anyone know? Yes you can. Just select ot overwrite your Smartphone with the data from the PC... You will have to re-install all apps though. Why select overwrite? Well, this is safer than combining. Another thing. If yo are using the default device name for the SMART Amazing Phone, I suggest you delete your partnership with the old Smartphone in ActiveSync. Tgis way yo get to use the default name of the new Smartphone... Mabuhay ~ Carlo (ppcsurfr)
Guest mapaman Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 I installed Smart Amp. Could you share the link where you downloaded this from? I've googled some links but they're not working. Thanks!
Guest jabez Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 When I use the SD card for the first time, is there anything else I need to do with it like formatting, initializing, renaming, or whatever?
Guest master Posted June 10, 2003 Report Posted June 10, 2003 hi, i'm not sure if this could help. try formatting the MMC with Smart Task Manager. Click on Menu then Format MMC/SD.
Guest mebius Posted June 10, 2003 Report Posted June 10, 2003 regarding MMC cards, I think SD cards are better in handling data and making them secure, and at the same time faster data transfers, assuming that for a 256 mb card or a 512mb card for that matter, the manufacturer uses true 256 chip and 512 respectively , cos some makers use 2 chips of 256 to get 512, and THAT is because some cards are cheaper than others. Incidentally, a friend of mine who is importing Hard drives and stuffs, also imports SD cards, 128,256 and 512(special order) You can verify that the 256SD cards sells for at least 9thousand plus and above, I can get it for those of you interested in having a 256 mb SD card for only 6,500.00  just PM me if you are interested. cheers
Guest jabez Posted June 10, 2003 Report Posted June 10, 2003 So, there are different kinds of SD's? How could I tell which brand of SD uses the true chip or the "un-true" ones? Any brands in particular?
Guest mebius Posted June 10, 2003 Report Posted June 10, 2003 the brand "transcend" is a very good one.
Guest grifter Posted June 10, 2003 Report Posted June 10, 2003 the brand transcend is also an expensive one. hehe...
Guest mebius Posted June 10, 2003 Report Posted June 10, 2003 i dont see how a 256mb SD card selling at 6500 expensive. Electroworld or mobileone sells them for 10k or more. Anyways, there may be other brands which are cheaper like twinmos. And take note, this is SD card not MMC, and finally, there is a 5, yes FIVE year warranty on those. Tell me if you're interested so i can hook u up with some.
Guest grifter Posted June 11, 2003 Report Posted June 11, 2003 hmmm... transcend 256MB at 6.5k? sounds good. anyway, my budget is only 2k for a 128MB mmc. i don't really need the 5 yr warranty since i won't be using my SAP for 5 yrs. hehe... and i don't see myself needing 256MB on the SAP. 128MB for me is already overkill. :D

Guest mebius Posted June 11, 2003 Report Posted June 11, 2003 it doesnt matter if you dont use your phone for 5 years, you can still use the SD card for other devices when you get rid of your phone. 128mb sd card is only 2800-3000 pesos also 5 year warranty. i'll have to confirm price on that
Guest grifter Posted June 12, 2003 Report Posted June 12, 2003 is there a noticeable difference in access time between sd and mmc?
