Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong, my SPV was unlocked OTA and I have SmartExplorer and SP Task Manager running ok, so I assume that this means the SPV is unlocked.

I tried to install a new skin today and I get the following message

Installation failed

The program or setting cannot be installed because it does not have adequate system permissions. Please contact your service provider for more information.

Then the skin gets deleted from where it was copied to

Thanks

Strange :? what skin are you trying to install and what is it a .hme file?

This is the second time I have heard of this problem in two days, and as you say if you are runnning

Task Manager then yes your phone is decerted.

Skins should not give this message though.

Here's the other existing Thread

Yep same skin as the other thread SXP2.hme, same problem, tried the same things.

Maybe there is something wrong with this skin, I try another one later on.

Can you give a link to the skin so I can give it a go?

I'm curious now, or glutton for punishment

Strange it worked first time for me :?

Unless there is something strange with the OTA method (I used the auto decert app) I cannot undestand

why it will not work for you.

Also with your first post after installation of a .hme and also a .cab file they will be automaticaly deleted

by the phone to save space and keep things tidy.

Tried another skin ( SmartOS.hme ) worked fine

Tried SXP2.hme again same error

I guess no SXP2 for me
