Guest evilminky Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 when i press the silver buttons the screen will light up but will not show what level the volume is set to the voice record button works fine. recently i have been trying out some skins and have removed mytools from the phone if thats any help. i also have the xbox media player skin.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 The first thing it could be is the Mytools app, how did you uninstall it? It sounds like uninstalling it did not return the button back to it's proper function. Do you have the Regedit app? as you may need to alter some values. I will have a look and see if I can find the relevent part but the registry is not my strong point.
Guest Vector Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 Midnight might know what part of the registry it is
Guest evilminky Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 thanks i cant remeber i could have just deleted it through active sync explorer the registry values would be very helpfull
Guest Matt Kirby Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 Have you tried re-installing MyTools, and then un-installing via SettingsRemove Programs? That should re-set any reg settings that the installation added. [EDIT] Just had a thought - doesn't MyTools map itself to the Voice Rec button rather than the Vol buttons? If thats the case then maybe something else is causeing the problem. [/EDIT]
Guest evilminky Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 i have reinstalled it and ive noticed the volume buttons works to move the my tools menu but still not the volume. i cant find it it remove programmes either.
Guest evilminky Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 would the volume screen be with the screens for skins, which would mean i would have deleted it when deleting skins by accident?
Guest martin Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 Is it the earpiece volume you are talking about ? (silver buttons on left side of phone) I think this is it dor the registry. In registry editor goto HKEY_CURRENT_USER/ControlPanel/Volume. Select values and click on volume to edit value data. 0 Bar, Volume=0 1 Bar, Volume=858993459 2 Bars, Volume=1717986918 3 Bars, Volume=2576980377 4 Bars, Volume=3435973836 5 Bars, Volume=4294967295
