Guest afwalker Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 When I hold '1' or pres the Answerphone softkey the phone is 'unable to complete the call as verified'. However, when I select 'answerphone' from my contacts, it connects perfectly (and the little spool doesn't even stick!). I figured that perhaps the shortcut and softkey don't have the correct number programmed but I can't find a way to check, and if necessary, change this. Can anyone help? Thanks, Alex
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 As far as I know the shortcut speed dial to the answerphone cannot be changed or reassigned as it is preset. As a Work around until a solution is found go to the answerphone in contacts select menu and assign a new speed dial number.

If it isn't there, goto contacts and click on answerphone. Highlight the +447973100123 number and use menu-Add speed dial. Select a keypad assignment 1-99.
Guest martin Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 As awarner said, the shortdial 1 should be allocated to the name voicemail as default by Orange so I wouldn't use this. The software might try and recreate it at some point. If I remember right, the last time someone asked the very same question on this, they entered the shortdial menu and it automatically started working again. :?
Guest Tyrant_worm Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 Cannot replicate the error message but Answerphone no. is in Settings,Telephony, Call Options if that helps.
Guest afwalker Posted June 10, 2003 Report Posted June 10, 2003 Hooray! Thank you Worm, I can now connect properly to my Answerphone! When I looked in the call options bit, there was no number at all, let alone the wrong one! So I inserted the correct number and hey presto, a fully functional shortcut. I have to say I'm rather impressed with this phone, not just because it has a s*** load of features but because you can do whatever you like to it and even when its bust, you just log on to the forum and find out who broke it first and how they fixed it! Marvellous! Anyway, thanks again Alex
