Guest morpheus2702 Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 Guys I am rather concerned over how slow my SPV is running. I have a 64MB SD card and the majority of my programs stored on it. There is nothing massive that I have stored on the main memory but can't see what else I can move: Physical memory: ttl 12836k Free 6572k IPSM folder: ttl 7.5M Free 2.03M Does this sound about right, or are there any obviously large files that I can store on my memory card? Cheers
Guest Bonzo Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 Well if U are anything like me... and it sounds like U ae... and only put the vital stuff on the phone... Nope it saounds we wrong!!! My IPSM folder hase ove 5Mb free... try looking in IPSMWindowsAppMgrInstall... this is the temp folder used for installation of programs and sometimes programs don't erase the CAB files they place in there when installing them... basically U should be able to clear the contents without harming anything
Guest morpheus2702 Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 Bonzo - just tried it out mate but nothing in the install folder so I don't know... all my programs are installed on the SD card so can't work out where the memory is going!
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 Try using Task Manager to see what you have running but the physical memory side is quite good, but the IPSM is a little low. This could be down to using one of the larger home screens or large ringtones.
Guest morpheus2702 Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 Think I have found it - my MAPI folder is coming in at 2.02Mb. Anyway of automatically limiting this?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 Not that I'm aware of but it is safe to delete it. The MAPI folder contains sent messages and apparently your emails but not you SMS inbox.
Guest morpheus2702 Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 OK cheers for that - one MAPI folder deleted!
