Guest Paul [MVP] Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 Once again, the FCC have managed to leak pictures of an upcoming device. This time it's a forthcoming Pocket PC Phone Edition from HTC, makers of the SPV / Tanager. Full details can be found at Pocket PC Tools, but the key differences in the new device appear to be - 64MB RAM - SDIO Support - Built in GPS! So what relevance to SmartPhone? Of course, no-one knows - but if HTC are implementing the above features in their PPCPE, there is no reason why they couldn't be implemented in a SmartPhone. 64MB GPS position aware SmartPhone anyone? P
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 Nice I'd almost consider replacing my Axim, almost  But this is a good sign especially the GPS feature.
Guest ClintEastman Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 That's old news! The shots/info of the Falcon have been around since last year. If we are going all PPCPE then how about the HTC SN
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 Oops, my mistake then! What's the SN? That pic looks like a standard XDA? P
Guest ClintEastman Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 I think there must be something in the water, an old news postin bug. It is the XDA. BRAIN MELTDOWN!!! (not been on the ball of late  )
Guest nickcornaglia Posted June 12, 2003 Report Posted June 12, 2003 I was waiting for the FALCON to come out as I really wanted built in GPS. I assume this is a GPS receiver and not just a transmitter for emergency services. But I could wait no longer and the smartphone was not filling my needs so I purchased the Samsung i700 under Verizon here in the US which is really the best service here under CDMA. I really hated to give up the versitility of my GSM but we'll see where the future leads us. My hope for the future is all of the functionality in the size of a SPV. Andway here is a pic and Samsung's link. http://www.samsungusa.com/cgi-bin/nabc/pro...ecs_verizon.jspsamsung_i700_02.gif
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted June 12, 2003 Report Posted June 12, 2003 What processor and memory does it have?
Guest DamianJauregui Posted June 12, 2003 Report Posted June 12, 2003 Wow. I think my SPV just blushed!
