Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 My woman wants a S300 (damn its small), i want her to go on Orange to reduce call charges when i (!) call her. However she thinks the Orange logo "makes it look ugly", ugly enough to pay more to get one on another tarriff without the logo. So, is there an easy way to remove the logo without damaging the handset? I'm pretty sure i've read about people doing it before, any comments or tips? Cheers
Guest madu Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 LMFAO  Is this pathetic, ironic or just plain * women logic?? Nevermind... I'll just go and drink my beers... * - please insert appropriate (in your oppinion) word here/ PS: No offence mono :D
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 I'm with your on this one madu, mate. She'd rather pay more for the handset than have the little orange square on top.
Guest James Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 the mystery of woman! you have got to love it! my misses just got a nokia.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 Th'is is even smaller than a Nokia, damn nice phone (although i'm as yet to have played with it). Either way, doesnt get me any closer to finding out how to remove the logo
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted June 10, 2003 Report Posted June 10, 2003 If i arrive with anything even vaguely resembling a B&Q product, she'll not be having any of it. :/
Guest siu99spj Posted June 10, 2003 Report Posted June 10, 2003 Good luck. My previous bit of fluff was quite keen for me to mess about with DIY bits. She certainly didn't mind me having bits of snadpaper round, though I never attacked her phone with such. You should be lucky yours doesn't want you to advance with any B&Q products, less DIY for you to fail at.
Guest Rob.P Posted June 10, 2003 Report Posted June 10, 2003 Best advice I can give you is try nail polish remover, try it on the corner of the logo first with a cotton bud stick or something similiar with a small tip. Not saying it will work but I have found that nail polish remover is pretty good at getting most things removed. Plus you might get browny points as it's one of her products and not B&Q's
Guest Sculli Posted June 10, 2003 Report Posted June 10, 2003 Don't get nail varnish remover anywhere near the screen - acetone crazes acrylic and polycarbonate - then she'll have more to moan about than a 5mm orange square! Sculli
Guest Rob.P Posted June 10, 2003 Report Posted June 10, 2003 I shall be applying nail vanish remover a little bit more carefully next time, thanks for that Sculli
Guest James Posted June 10, 2003 Report Posted June 10, 2003 I shall be applying nail vanish remover a little bit more carefully next time, thanks for that Sculli  on your phone, right? :D
Guest capt_janeway Posted June 10, 2003 Report Posted June 10, 2003 Paint the whole thing orange and then the square won't show!
Guest Rob.P Posted June 10, 2003 Report Posted June 10, 2003 on your phone, right? :D Ssshhhh, keep it down, don't want everyone knowing
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted June 10, 2003 Report Posted June 10, 2003 Paint the whole thing orange and then the square won't show!
Guest Mr_Protozoa Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 I seem to remeber somebody telling me that the orange logos can be removed simply by rubbing them with your thumb a lot. Think it was on this forum... several months back. But then I could be wrong, it'll depend on the type of plastic the case is made from. Think I works with some of the ABS cases.
Guest siu99spj Posted June 19, 2003 Report Posted June 19, 2003 C4? Napalm? Uranium???? Only side effect is they might remove the rest of the phone too! :D
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted June 19, 2003 Report Posted June 19, 2003 I thought of the thumb trick too, no luck. Semtex....maybe, would you hold it while i go over the to detonation switch?
