Guest JDimeRolla10 Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 How do I delete all the contacts on my phone? Is there an easier way compared to deleting it one by one from the phone? I don't want to sync it and delete everything (contacts) from outlook because I also use the contacts from outlook for another mobile phone.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 Moved to help and advice. Tried moving all your contacts to another folder, then syncing your phone with the empty contacts folder?
Guest JDimeRolla10 Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 Monolithix: Everything seems so easy for you. Did that and it works! Thanks man! You are the GOD of SPVx's!
Guest JDimeRolla10 Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 One more question... I'm a bit of O/C (obsessive/compulsive) with how contacts are stored on my phone. Since I imported the contacts from my Nokia 7650 to Outlook to my SPVx, somehow, there are items that have a blank space on it. Instead of the label item (work phone, email, job title, etc.) having no information at all, it has 1 space instead. So when I check my contacts on the SPVx, it would say +63 917 1234567 m; + 63 917 1234567 sms; e. I hope you understand what I mean. Is there a way around that? I've tried deleting all the spaces in Outlook so that when I sync my phone, it would eliminate it but my phone still has spaces. What to do what to do... Is there a software that manages the contacts better?
Guest Will Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 the e: signifies email> the m: signifies mobile> it's just how the phone stores them, you can manipulate the contacts in outlook or on the phone ot put the right stuff in the right bits? Was that your question? Will
Guest JDimeRolla10 Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 Oops... Sorry got you confused... What I meant was, I have several e's that are blank... How do I remove those? I don't want to do it one by one... I tried outlook but even if I fixed it in outlook, it still appears on the phone...
Guest Will Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 OK! bad new, unless you try to re-input the details only on the phone, and turn off the outlook sync. - i think outlook adds a blank email address when you sync.. Is it really that annoying - it's not using much storage space is it? Will
Guest spv_dman Posted September 14, 2003 Report Posted September 14, 2003 How do I delete all the contacts on my phone? Is there an easier way compared to deleting it one by one from the phone? I don't want to sync it and delete everything (contacts) from outlook because I also use the contacts from outlook for another mobile phone. I've found a workaround for this. Guest mek Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 few months later..... I just did a search for how to delete all my contacts in one go and hit this thread first. But i used a simplified version of Monolithix's. Firstly delete all your contacts in Outlook, connect the phone and sync it - deleting all the contacts, unplug the phone and then hit "edit" and undelete deleted items, sticking them all back in Outlook
