I just got done painting my SPV, and I'm wondering, what kinda of adhesive to use to glue the screen back to the front cover of the SPV. Does that make any sense? To paint it, you have to remove the plastic screen cover from the front cover. Any ideas on how to re-glue this back on? Thanks in advance!!!

Hey nobznss

How did it go? I think for glueing the front facia panel back on I`d use superglue but not alot you may need to get it back off again..

Did ya spray it a whole different colour or just touch up some bits?

No, it's a whole new color. I painted it yellow. I'm a loud person so why not have a loud phone? But I didn't paint the back half of it. We'll see how that looks. I figured that yellow wouldn't go too bad with grey. I hope I'm right. I should post some pics once I'm done. 8) Thanks for the help!

What ever you do, DO NOT use superglue unless you are in a very well ventilated area and do not fit it for a few hours.

The fumes given off by superglue can leave a residue on the screen.

i'd say some silica glue - like jelly rubber - that peels off and works good untill enough (not much) force is applied to remove. it protects you from wrecking the screen with any _super_ glue and there's no need for such strong fix. dunno what it's called, but hope i'm making meself clear

Hmmm... I'll see what I can find. Thanks a bunch. I'm just waiting for it to dry before putting it all back together. Thanks for the advise! I really hope this looks good. I guess if it looks really bad I can just sand it down and repaint it again! I'll post a pic hopefully today... that is if I can get it back together!

Well, it doesn't seem that my paint job went too well. I painted it all yellow, and then decided to put a clear acrylic over the top. BAD MISTAKE. The paint underneith started to crack, and it just looks HORRIBLE!! Well, I began to try and sand off the paint, but to no avail. So, I went to my local retailer and asked what to do about the problem. They recommended to be a product called "goof off." (Not sure they have it in the UK) At any rate, I used it with a few paper towels, and took EVERY ounce of paint off my spv except for the original color. Now it looks like I did absolutely NOTHING to it! I'm so excited. Anyway, rather than try the yellow thing again, I changed my focus and went with a dark grey instead. It's a very nice shade, and I figure it'll go good with the backing. This time no acrylic. I'll post a pic tomorrow morning!

Good luck, also as madu said, use a silica glue. I know Dow Corning do an excellent range with

some very strong glues which can be as strong.

As for using any form of protective final coat make sure it is compatable with the paint then you should not

have any problems.

Not bad, mind that water near your phone though (someone had to say it  )

Let us know how well it holds up over time...

Ya, the camera sure brought that out didn't it? You can't really see it though. I can of course because I painted it and can see all the mess ups.

I don't think I'll paint the back. I don't want it to feel sticky. I'd rather it just be 2 toned. It's alright by me.

Does the front feel sticky then? does it need a coat of acrylic?

Actually it doesn't feel very sticky at all and according to some of the other posts, it goes away. I just don't really want that to have to be an issue at all. It looks great though (in my opinion) and it seems to be holding up pretty well to the abuse I put on my phone.
