I'm just interested to know how often people are able to access GPRS when they want. Had my SPV for 3 weeks and for me, service has been... sporadic to say the very least.

I've been able to get a connection with no probs most of the time, it's just the od day every few months

It's about 50:50. For some reason though, I'll connect, then 15 mins later (in exactly the same location) I'll try again and it won't work unless I restart the phone! Weird...

I've said it before and i'll say it again.

I have NEVER had any GPRS problems, other than when testing caller id beta's or the 3 days the entire Orange GPRS network went down a few months ago.

Other than that i can always connect, always load pages, always use MSN.

How about another option - "GPRS works as well as the rest of the serivce".

I've never had any major problems with GPRS, but recently in my area of South London the Orange network as a whole has been a bit ropey.

For about two weeks I haven't been able to reliably use GPRS, SMS or Voice!

Still, I can still play Doom....

Thats weird, my part of South London (Epsom-ish) doesn't have any problems (That I've noticed).

Can use GPRS, phone and SMS fine. The only time I've had a few problems is when my phone thinks there is full signal in the house. It occaisonally then locks with the full signal sign until I either turn off the radio or the phone. Then it behaves again for a couple of weeks.

I'm Tulse Hill / Streatham, and coverage has been sporadic both inside and out.

I have toyed with the idea of phoning Orange, but don't want to be patronised by someone telling me it's a handset issue (despite my brother having the same problems with a _Nokia), only to eventually be fobbed off with "Oh, it's a transmitter problem that should be sorted tomorrow".

Assuming I could get a signal to phone them in the first place...

Been there, seen that, got the toaster. Mine occaisonally happens even if I haven't used GPRS since turning back on the phone. Weird, but I don't mind, I don't really check the signal anyway. I know that it works just fine in my kitchen (3 blocks) so if someone rings, I just use it there.

Until the last 2 weeks, it had been pretty good, but since then it has been terrible. Checked with Orange, who thought that it was the Handset at fault so disabled - reenabled GPRS.

Hasnt worked at home now for 2 weeks, and works 1 day in 3 at work. Seeing as though I am coming to the end of the promotional GPRS coverage, am thinking of coming off of GPRS, as having it but never being able to connect is useless!

EVERY TIME I use gprs I get disconnected. Sometimes after only 1 page, sometimes after several ... but every time, without exception, I have to close IE using taskmanager, & then reconnect gprs. Most of the time, that will allow me to reconnect, but sometimes I just get stuck on the dialling... - until I reset the phone.

£3 PER MB - I ask ye...??

I've never had too much to complain about, it works most of the time, once or twice i've had connection issues but i'm not complaining, thats the case with everything really...
