Guest Just_Curious Posted June 10, 2003 Report Posted June 10, 2003 In the IPSM of my phone I have unrecognized files such as cemail.vol, GCounterFile.mmf, mxip_initdb.vol, mxip_lang.vol, iaseths1.bkf, and mdmlog3.txt. What are these files? Is it safe to remove them as they take so as to free some memory on IPSM folder?
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted June 10, 2003 Report Posted June 10, 2003 cemail.vol is your inbox database. the mxip_*.vol's are your contacts and calendar (?) databases. Gcounterfile.mmf is from All locations GPRS counter. iaseths1.bkf is presumably to do with the IA Caller ID mdmlog3.txt is just a log file....
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted June 10, 2003 Report Posted June 10, 2003 Do not delete these files, They are there for a reason and deleting them could give you some nice problems which would lead you to do a hard reset and lose all your info and settings. If you are trying to freeup some space have a look in the MAPI folder this contains sent SMS etc and is safe to delete. How much space do you have in the IPSM? EDIT mono's fast today
Guest Just_Curious Posted June 10, 2003 Report Posted June 10, 2003 I have around 3mb left funny thing is I'm using a 32 mb sd card and most of my apps are installed there just wondering what's eating up my IPSM...
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted June 10, 2003 Report Posted June 10, 2003 Ringtones large background set etc, like I said have a look in the MAPI folder as it can hog the memory. Saying that I have 4MB spare and do not install anything to the phone, so 3MB is not too bad.
Guest Just_Curious Posted June 10, 2003 Report Posted June 10, 2003 Ok Thanks for the help I deleted the files in the MAPI folder memory has increased
Guest morpheus2702 Posted June 11, 2003 Report Posted June 11, 2003 Silly question - what does IPSM stand for?
