In the IPSM of my phone I have unrecognized files such as cemail.vol, GCounterFile.mmf, mxip_initdb.vol, mxip_lang.vol, iaseths1.bkf, and mdmlog3.txt. What are these files? Is it safe to remove them as they take so as to free some memory on IPSM folder?

cemail.vol is your inbox database.

the mxip_*.vol's are your contacts and calendar (?) databases.

Gcounterfile.mmf is from All locations GPRS counter.

iaseths1.bkf is presumably to do with the IA Caller ID

mdmlog3.txt is just a log file....

Do not delete these files, They are there for a reason and deleting them could give you some nice problems which would lead you to do a hard reset and lose all your info and settings.

If you are trying to freeup some space have a look in the MAPI folder this contains sent SMS etc and is safe to delete.

How much space do you have in the IPSM?

EDIT mono's fast today

Ringtones large background set etc, like I said have a look in the MAPI folder as it can hog the memory. Saying that I have 4MB spare and do not install anything to the phone, so 3MB is not too bad.
