Guest Immortalmindz Posted June 10, 2003 Report Posted June 10, 2003 All id like to see is a nicer looking smartphone, i mean you gotta be honest the SPV is somewhat of a pig to look at and dont even get me started on the keys, if you have hands bigger than an eight year old girl then the SPV is very difficult to navigate with its tiny buttons that are too squashed together. Ithink the SPV is a great phone (which is why i got one) but compare its design to say the P800 and it leaves alot to be desired.
Guest Yassa Posted June 10, 2003 Report Posted June 10, 2003 I find that if you use dove cream on your hand it make them more soft and key strokes become easier  cheers yassa
Guest madu Posted June 11, 2003 Report Posted June 11, 2003 Agreed on keys and some other points (especially Dove cream  ) but the thing is that P800 is in my oppinion crap design - it looks like a toy, not like any professional tool or decent phone...
Guest tbrose Posted June 12, 2003 Report Posted June 12, 2003 I have to say I agree with madu. The P800 is crap design. And it's way too big aswell. But yeah, I'd like the SPV to be better looking too!
Guest Immortalmindz Posted June 13, 2003 Report Posted June 13, 2003 i agree with you all, i never said i liked the P800 design, i think its too fat and yes it does look somewhat like a toy but in comparison to the spv its alot nicer. All i was saying is with all this new technology and operating systems someone now needs to design a phone that is not only more pleasing to the eye but easier to navigate (by this i dont mean menu's just better contols to navigate with). I reckon the new spvx or tananger or whatever you wanna call it is definitely a step in the right direction. Anyways happy spving everyone
Guest SirGaz Posted June 13, 2003 Report Posted June 13, 2003 I don't know, I like the SPV. Yes the buttons are bit close together and small, and the joystick thing is pants to use in a game, but the overall look is quite good. When I saw the specs for the SPV and saw pictures in mags and and the web I though the thing would be huge and really thick (depth), but when I got one in my hands I was plesantly surprised.
Guest Mr_Protozoa Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 I don't think the SPV is *that* bad. I really like the visual style of the keys, they look agressive yet sophistacated at the same time. Am I the only person who doesn't have any problems with the keypad. I'd replace the whole dpad section though, make it more balanced (vert) and make the action button easier to use (for new users). Oh, and the whole top section (above the screen) should be redesigned, it's appauling (like my spelling in the early hours). The GUI is difficult to use for most Nokia peeps, but since this is really a small PC and not just a phone it's not too bad. Remember this is the first smartphone out there, the usability issues will be addressed in future updates. The phone could do with being a little thinner, but the battery is the only thing that bulks it up. Since the SPV is a power hungry little beast it needs a decent battery. What we really need are methane batteries or something similar, but they're still years away. The p800 doesn't look like the professional tool it should. Maybe we should start a poll; "What's the Prettiest Phone Avalible?!"
