ActiveSync Problem

Has anyone experienced these problems with ActiveSync?

1. You have connected through IR. AS is checking for changes. It's taking too long and AS disconnects. When you try to reconnect, the PC doesnt even detect the IR. Your phone forever displays "Connecting"

2. You have connected through IR and have also successfully synched (ie u didnt get problem #1). Suddenly, AS or the IR control in your PC says that something is blocking the IR connection. You check and find that this is impossible and that apart from air or dust molecules, there's nothing blocking the connection. The connection is still lost. When you try to reconnect, the PC doesnt even detect the IR. Your phone forever displays "Connecting"

What could be happening and what's the solution?

I'm getting the same problem on my laptop recently! Just say connecting, not going any further!! :cry:

What version of Windows are you using?

I synced using IR for a few months with no problems or disconnections...

I use Windows XP and ActiveSync 3.7. Problem still happened when i was using Win2k pro and AS 3.6.

I don't normally experience it when i connect thru USB. But with IR it's almost everytime i connect.

This is a really stupid comment but you have taken the protective film off the IR bit at the top right? Sometimes they aren't transparent to IR.
