Guest Simon Desser Posted June 11, 2003 Report Posted June 11, 2003 If this can be done for PocketPC, surely something similar could be made for Smartphone :?: Now that would sell like hot cakes :!:
Guest James Posted June 11, 2003 Report Posted June 11, 2003 are you sure? i would not spend $20 on something the spv does already. but i do see your point and it looks great.
Guest karmapolice Posted June 11, 2003 Report Posted June 11, 2003 If your like me and really into your mp3's then something like this is a must. The ability to have a graphic Equalizer and to be able to search to the middle of an mp3 would be so cool.Sometimes i wonder if i would be better off to sell my SPV and get a pocket pc...but i cant bring myself to do it.
Guest Simon Desser Posted June 11, 2003 Report Posted June 11, 2003 i would not spend $20 on something the spv does already Equalizers! Playlists! Winamp Skins! Bookmarks! Turn off screen (to save power)! Preset EQ's! ID Tags Create playlists (on the Device)! It looks AWSOME :!:
Guest James Posted June 11, 2003 Report Posted June 11, 2003 yeah, ok! but its still just a media player! (sorry, i did not see all that)
Guest midnight Posted June 11, 2003 Report Posted June 11, 2003 eh????? why pay 20 quid for something that you can get free?????.... WinamPAQ oh, and that one also plays ogg files.

If it can be created for the pocketpc it can be created for the smartphone, simple as that.
Guest madu Posted June 11, 2003 Report Posted June 11, 2003 blablahblah! all that talk...and we still have no dedicated mp3 player that does a simple job WELL (and has a few features that it should as a sound player..)! Simple as that! The only other player that is availible for mp3 is PocketMVP and it copes pretty well, but it is in fact a dedicated DivX player and mp3 is just a bonus factor. I stopped using WMP as soon as PMVP came out, but a _dedicated_mp3-optimised_ player is what we need! So why we still not have it?? Frijj promised SmartAMP is to have mp3 support - but still no news from that.
Guest Simon Desser Posted June 11, 2003 Report Posted June 11, 2003 If it can be created for the pocketpc it can be created for the smartphone, simple as that. That was my point  However, I've never really looked at PocketPC software before, so I didn't realise there was stuff like that available for free  But, I STILL would pay $20.00 for something like this now, rather than wait in the hope that a free one comes out :?:
Guest madu Posted June 11, 2003 Report Posted June 11, 2003 Indeed, I have been waiting/looking for a dedicated mp3 player coz WMP doesn't handle my 1 hour long sets and PocketMVP is a bit buggy with seek on mp3 as it stands now, but malloc is doing a great job trying to fix the bug.. PMVP also has an equaliser and supports skins, so pretty much you got the solution, oh and the playlist - very simple notepad job.
Guest midnight Posted June 11, 2003 Report Posted June 11, 2003 but, you are saying you would pay $20 for a pocketpc app when a free one that does the same is available, that was my argument, whether you would pay $20 for a smartphone version is irrelevant. oh, by the way, winamPAQ runs on the smartphone, you just cant do anything with it (stylus input y'see), so, if the author is willing to give the source to a smartphone developer, it should be a simple(ish) port. needs the screen rotating 90 degrees, keypad input, and a few other little things here and there and that should be about it. SPACEMONKEY?????? hehehe
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted June 11, 2003 Report Posted June 11, 2003 Since PocketMind (developers of this app) have ported Crazy Bubbles to SP already, maybe they're planning to port this... Has anyone asked them? :-O P
Guest Simon Desser Posted June 11, 2003 Report Posted June 11, 2003 but, you are saying you would pay $20 for a pocketpc app when a free one that does the same is available, that was my argument, whether you would pay $20 for a smartphone version is irrelevant) I didn't say that :? (I don't have a Pocket PC). What I'm saying is, that IF, there were a Smartphone version (or similar) available now, I would happily pay $20.00 for it, rather than hope a free one MIGHT become available in the future. And my original point was, that if stuff like that is available for a Pocket PC, then it shouldn't be that difficult to release a Smartphone version (which we agree on)
