Guest Johnnyjohn Posted June 12, 2003 Report Posted June 12, 2003 Since I got my smartphone I've been experiencing major headaches constantly - hospital can't find anything wrong. Just wondering if anyone else out there has had any similar problems but was too afraid to ask... let me know. John (probably just need to give up kick-boxing!! (joke!)
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted June 12, 2003 Report Posted June 12, 2003 I've never had that problem but a friend of mine swore blind that his works Nokia caused this a few years back. he stopped using it and did not have the problem again. The only note was he was using his mobile all of the time.
Guest DamianJauregui Posted June 12, 2003 Report Posted June 12, 2003 Just stay away from Motorolas. They were reknown for being a bit too powerful a couple of years ago.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted June 12, 2003 Report Posted June 12, 2003 Tried usinga nother phone for a week or so?
Guest crimminsky Posted June 12, 2003 Report Posted June 12, 2003 stop banging your head against the wall everytime you die in Rick dangerous
Guest strathclydezero Posted June 12, 2003 Report Posted June 12, 2003 The radiation output of the SPV is relatively low. Within the industry Nokias were considered the worst overall, often exceeding the standards which they claimed to meet. I don't know whether that is still the case.
Guest JoelRae Posted June 12, 2003 Report Posted June 12, 2003 There was a point when I was using my sony J70 a couple of hours a night and I did start getting headaches, not bad ones and could easily have been attributed to college stress  !!! Not had a problem with my SPV, although do use the handsfree a lot  Joel p.s. is there an "official" index anywhere that gives data on radiation from different phones etc?
Guest strathclydezero Posted June 12, 2003 Report Posted June 12, 2003 Manufacturers are obliged to tell you the results of their tests into the SAR (specific apsorbtion rate). The maximum allowed in the UK is 2W/kg. A couple of years ago the data was unreliable as different manufacturers used different tests to get their data but the EU has been trying to conform the tests. I'm not sure how successful this has been. Carphone warehouse publishes a list of the manufacturers reported SARs. The SPV works at 0.680W/kg. Finally - mobile phones vary their radiation emission in order to minimise emission but still provide a high enough quality signal. So if you are close to a mast the probablility is that your phone is using a low power, if you are inside a large building it's radiation emmissions are probably high. The phone uses its maximum power when it is connecting a call. So if you are calling someone then hold the phone away from your head until it starts ringing.
Guest Johnnyjohn Posted June 12, 2003 Report Posted June 12, 2003 stop banging your head against the wall everytime you die in Rick dangerous LOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOL  :D  That game has been driving me NUTS!!
