What's up with the US offerings of Smartphone?

I see that AT&T and T-Mobile have started boarding the boat, but details are nowhere.

Back to a question I asked a long time ago, since AT&T and Cingular are now deploying 850 and T-Mobile has roaming agreements with both, is there a chance of seeing a quad-band (instead of a crappy US-based dual-band)?

Also, is it safe to assume, the US won't officially see the MS Smartphone until Smartphone 2003 is on them?
