Guest accessd Posted June 13, 2003 Report Posted June 13, 2003 experts, 1. need help on fixing the somewhat missing link icon (above) when i try to restart my phone. This happened after i organized my programs menu and it seems the default startup screen is was not changed when i moved the links on the program menu to respective folders. 2. how can I remove the unwanted quick link displayed by default on the phone screen? (smart portal, card toons, fun pix, tones) from addict... 2a. does removing this voids anything from SMART? thanks and MABUHAY!
Guest ppcsurfr Posted June 13, 2003 Report Posted June 13, 2003 1. For the links, you can make a copy of them and place them back in the original location. After doing so, mark them as hidden files, this you will find in the properties of the shortcuts when you use SmartExplorer or RESCO Explorer 2003. The shortcuts will no longer show as missing links. 2. Just remove the complete entry of the plug-in from the XML file... But of course you will have to save this under a different file and place it in the IPSMApplication DataHome folder You can copy the home.full.xml file from the Windows folder to the IPSMApplication DataHome folder and edit it with a Text Editor... or you can copy it to your desktop PC first and edit it from there. Just look for the open and close tags associated to that plug-in and delete the whole entry. 3. NO it doesn't Mabuhay ~ Carlo
Guest accessd Posted June 14, 2003 Report Posted June 14, 2003 Hi ppcsurfr, thanks for the rompt response on my query. I did try to modify the said xml and i think you were reffering to "full.home.xml". However it did not work for me and saan kaya me nagkamali? 1. copy windowsfull.home.xml to my PC 2. from my pc, right click on the full.home.xml and choose edit 3. remove the entries i don't want to show up on my screen 4. save the modified full.home.xml and copy to: IPSMApplication DataHome 5. Restarted the phone. 6. Check the saved file in IPSMApplication DataHome and it was there. What went wrong??? I tried to copy also the xml file overwritting the one in Windows. Restarted the phone but after the reboot, the original came back again with the entries i don't want to show up. I tried setting the modified file to Read Only and overwrite the file in Windows and IPSMApplication DataHome but same thing happened. The file in Windows returned to its original state. Where did i go wrogn?!...hehehehe thanks for the help!
Guest ppcsurfr Posted June 14, 2003 Report Posted June 14, 2003 You will have to full home xml files in the IPSMApplication DataHome folder. Pick the last one. Also, it will help if you pick another xml first, press ok and go back and do it again. Mabuhay ~ Carlo

Guest randy Posted June 15, 2003 Report Posted June 15, 2003 you have to change the title on the xml file. it looks like this... Guest roncom Posted June 15, 2003 Report Posted June 15, 2003 I'm no good in XML stuff but let me share you how i edited mine. Go to http://www.smartphoneclub.net/smartphoneclub/ register and go to the Home screen scetion. Customize it the way you want ( you can choose the Full layout default ) and download it. You will receive an email and the link to download your new layout. Just install it on your phone. Now your phone will display 2 "Full layout".... just choose the new one  Cheers XOX
