Guest spider Posted June 13, 2003 Report Posted June 13, 2003 maybe some of you have experienced this: When I call a number and the number is busy, it should normally give a "busy" tone, however my phone only gives a few small clicks and then the it cuts the connection. I have already had it in for repair, but the only thing they did at O was to download the software into the phone again (the newest danish version). It did help...but only for a week..and now the problem is there again.. so I guess I have to ask the real experts....YOU....have your seen this failure before and what is the solution :!: :?:
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted June 14, 2003 Report Posted June 14, 2003 I've had this on more than one type of phone, but I did not think it was a problem :? I presumed it was the network automaticaly cutting the connection as there was no point listening to the busy tone?
Guest martin Posted June 14, 2003 Report Posted June 14, 2003 Is it another mobile phone you are calling. When it is busy, the network should route your call to an answering service. There may be fault on the network. Does it happen when calling all mobiles on all networks or does it happen for one particular network only.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted June 14, 2003 Report Posted June 14, 2003 This happens when I phone a landline, but it does not happen all the time :? but as you say it could be a provider related.
Guest spider Posted June 15, 2003 Report Posted June 15, 2003 I don't think this problem is related to what provider I am using or calling or if it is a land line or not...because the problem was not presented before the update (as I recall it), but after the update the problem occoured (after a while however)...then I did the upgrade again and it worked for about a week and now it is the same problem again... I have also tried to call the same numbers were I have experienced the problem, and the failure were gone after the upgrade but then it is presented after a week...so I am sure it is my phone which has some kind of problem... Further to this I can tell you that this was not the only problem I had with the SPV....at the same time it did not recognize my SD card when I removed it and put it in again....and as the last problem: When I triede to make a call I could only here a little noise in the speaker but nothing happend even though there were full signal strength, full battery, etc etc..but it just kebt saying: "calling" and then a little noise in the speaker..and if I triede to call my own number from another phone it would divert the call to my answer machine....ANYWAY these two point were solved by the update...but apperently the busy tone is still a problem
Guest Lojt Posted June 16, 2003 Report Posted June 16, 2003 I had exactly the same problem since a couple days ago... really wierd... :|
