Guest AdiesSPV Posted June 15, 2003 Report Posted June 15, 2003 Does anyone else use their SPV as a torch! The screen is so bright I gotta wear shades. 8) Still it was very useful in a recent powercut and when I couldnt find the candles! Whilst you can set the backlight to be on a minimum of 5 secs, each key click sets it off. I wish for a more controllable backlight where in bright sunlight you can conserve your battery, or in complete darkness, a half bright or even less would be sufficient. Makes you think it bay conserve the relatively short battery life too! Adie

Very old joke from the early days  But as you say very usefull, I use it most nights as I'm the last to bed, and it saves waking everyone up. Paul even developed the first app for the phone called torch, where by running the app the backlight would come on :D only problem is it still timed out  It was only a joke app but some muppets on Ebay still try to sell it with their pirate SPV software. (until we get the auction removed  )
