help installing smart explorer

i have just downloaded smart explorer onto my pc. can someone give me a step by step quide on how to now get it onto my phone thanks in antisapation :oops:

Which file type do you have? as there are two versions.

1, .cab file. Using Activsync, click on Explore and place this file in IPSMWindowsStart MenuAccessories

then on the phone go ProgramsAccessories and you will see the file there. Select it and it will self install for you.

2, .exe file. The .exe file for Smart Explorer is designed to run off the PC. Place the phone in the cradle, start

up Activsync then run the .exe on the PC. Again this will self install the app for you.

dude,i did what u said.but this time it says, "this is not a valid windows CE application". any other suggestions?

Sounds like you have somehow got hold of the wrong version.(not sure there was one :?)

Go to www.monolithix.org or the binary's web site http://www.binarys.com/smartphone/default_en.asp

download it again, it should work without any problems

EDIT sorry wrong site for mono listed, correct one inplace now

sorry, i spoke to soon, i downloaded the zip file from monolithix and extracted it to my desktop, their i find 3 files, setup, obinzlib 002, and smartez~1.001, i put them all in accesseries and tried to run them but am being told that they can not be opened, my phone is decert. please help. or tell me where i can get the file that self installs, i know i am a pain, but i just don't get it :?

If you are running win 9x then they will appear to be a zip file, it is not.

It's a .cab file. place it as I said in instruction 1, and it will install when you select it.

It's a common problem mistaking a .cab for a .zip

EDIT the initial downloaded file is a zip but inside is the .cab file

this is the one people make the error with and try to extract it.

thanks alot man, it works!!!! i think this is where i am going wrong on loads of things, i keep trying to extract and then install what my pc tells me is a zip file. is there anyway of telling before i do the install, thanks again
